FAQ

How many films does Hollywood make in a given year?

Hollywood studios make approximately 3,000 films annually. Three thousand!

These films are marketed by Hollywood, which spends billions of dollars. They spend millions on their production. They also spend millions promoting them. But how many do you think actually end up getting released into theaters?

Most likely, the answer is around 200-300. What happens then to the 2,700+ remaining films? They are either distributed as direct-to–video releases or simply left in storage.

But not all of them are destined to go unseen. Some of them were selected for distribution via Netflix Prime, Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus, iTunes or Google Play.

Hence why don't more of these films be released? Why aren’t they being shown in theaters instead? They're too costly to produce.

They would be released in theaters if they were less expensive to produce.

I can help. I can help guide you in the best way possible to put your movie in theaters.

I will teach you how to increase your return on investment (ROI), as well as increasing your chances of seeing the movie in theaters.

Let's face it, we all know...

It can be challenging to get your film into theaters. This process can be complicated, lengthy, and filled with legalities.

It may also cost you plenty of money before you even get started.

Even worse, your window of opportunity to distribute your film is very limited.

There simply isn't enough time between when a film is finished, and its theatrical run begins.

Can I form my own distribution business?

No. Without being a distributor, you cannot legally establish a distribution company.

Even though you may not be distributing other people's films, you still have to follow certain rules.

You can't, for example, charge different prices to different theaters. And you can't charge different fees to different customers.

You also can't sell your services to other companies.

How much does it cost for a feature movie to be distributed?

A typical distribution deal costs between $100,000-$150,000.

The average cost of a theater is approximately $10,000

The average screen cost is about $5,000

This means that your distribution fee for 100 screens would be approximately $500,000.

Distribution fees are $50,000 for 10 screens.

How much does Hollywood make a year?

The average movie costs around $100 million to produce. If you produced ten movies per year for a decade you would have enough money to purchase a small country.

You would own your own island, with an airport, a power plant, a bank, a post office, a police force, a fire department, a school system, a hospital, a zoo, a sports stadium, a theater, and a cinema.

If this doesn't sound fun, you are insane.

Hollywood became famous because of its fame.

The answer was simple. Because they were willing take risks and do something completely different, it became famous. They had the courage to make films that people would remember for years to come.

They were also willing to try out new ideas.

How much of the box-office revenue is spent on marketing budgets?

Marketing budgets typically account for between 20% and 40% of a film’s budget. This is because marketing is very important to the success of any film.

Without marketing, nobody will know anything about your film. No one will pay for your film if they don't know about it.
