But who were the other names we liked in the 70s, anyway? What's your favorite television show or movie? Please leave your comments below. Whether you're nostalgic for the 70s or a total film nerd, these actors and actresses have all wowed us.

Gene Wilder

In the early 1970s, Gene Wilder worked in a variety of film roles. As Willy Wonka the gentle chocolate factory worker, his first big break came in 1971. During the 1970s, Wilder also played the role of a fox in a musical adaptation of the classic "The Little Prince." He directed his first directorial work in 1975 in Woody Allen’s spoof, “Everything You Wanted About Sex.”

Wilder and Richard Pryor teamed up in the 1980s for the comedy Stir Crazy (1980), and See No Evil, Hear No Evil (89). He also starred in movies with Gilda Ragner, such Hanky Panky (1982), The Woman in Red (1884). Wilder's acting career was ruined after Radner's suicide. However, after the death of Radner, Wilder became a strong advocate for cancer awareness. Radner and Wilder coauthored a book on ovarian carcinoma and established a support network for cancer patients.

FAQ

How many movies is Hollywood making in a single year?

Hollywood studios make approximately 3,000 films annually. That's right, 3000!

Hollywood spends billions on advertising for these films. They spend millions creating them. They also spend millions on marketing them. How many of these movies do you think end up in theaters?

It's probably between 200-300. The question is, what happens to all the other 2,700+ films? They are either distributed as direct-to–video releases or simply left in storage.

Not all of them will be undiscovered. Some have been chosen for distribution via Netflix or Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus and iTunes, Google Play and other platforms.

Hence why don't more of these films be released? Why aren’t they being shown in theaters instead? They're too costly to produce.

And if they were cheaper to produce, they'd be released into theaters.

That's where I come in. I'll help you find the best way for your film to be released in theaters.

I'll show how to maximize your return-on-investment (ROI) as well as increase your chances for seeing your movie in theatres.

We have to face it...

It can be hard to get your film into the theaters. This process can be complicated, lengthy, and filled with legalities.

It may also cost you plenty of money before you even get started.

To make matters worse, the window of time during which you can distribute your film is extremely limited.

There simply isn't enough time between when a film is finished, and its theatrical run begins.

What is the cost of distributing a feature-length film?

A distribution deal can cost anywhere from $100,000 to $150,000.

The average cost per theater is around $10,000.

The average cost per screen is around $5,000.

If you have 100 screens, your distribution fee will be about $500,000.

Distributor fees of $50,000 would apply if there are ten screens.

How much of the box office revenue goes to marketing budgets

Marketing budgets often account for 20%-40% of the film's budget. This is because marketing is critical to the success and longevity of any film.

Marketing is the only way to make sure that your film is known. Without knowing about your film, no one wants to pay to see it.
